What this eBook is about: Constructing engaging tweets so you become someone worth following. It's about understanding your followers, building connections, making friends & having fun.
What this eBook is NOT about: Growth strategies. I won't cover any growth hacks like follow 4 follow, hashtags, viral tweets, etc. There are plenty of guides you can buy for those tips & tricks.
If this resonates with you, keep reading. 😉

General overview: On my way to 1K+ followers, I've studied various formats & methods on constructing tweets that are relatable and interesting for my followers. Hopefully, this guide will help you as you go through your own Twitter journey.
Before starting, you should ask yourself some key questions that may help you think about WHY you want to create on Twitter in the first place:
"Positive energy transfers through your writing."
People often start without asking these key questions, but I think your content will come thru with much more energy & clarity if you are truly engaged with the content you're creating.
If you're having fun, then your followers will have fun too. Positive energy transfers through your writing.
Example: When I started my account in Jan 2021, I thought I'd post content on personal finance and investing. I work in finance so this was an area where I thought I could easily add value.
But a month into the journey, I realized this felt like work — it wasn't fun at all. That's when I decided to pivot. If it's not fun for you, then you won't last long on here. Have fun!
The Framework: Now that you have some ideas on what you want to write about, what's next? How do you take these ideas & distill the essence into bite-size tweets for your followers to consume? Here's the framework I've been using to construct engaging tweets:
Twitter Analytics:
Note: It's sometimes hard to determine what's engaging when you look purely at numbers — bigger accounts will obviously have higher numbers in general
What is interesting is whether a tweet does 'relatively' well compared to other ones. For example, when one of my tweets got 12 likes when other ones were getting 2-3 at the time
Analytics Example (Tweet #1 below)
Here are the high-level metrics I like to track:
Now that we've reviewed some of the basics, let's walk through 3 approaches using the framework above 👇🏻
Top-Down Approach: Utilize this approach when a tweet does really well unexpectedly (like Tweet #1) & you take the big idea from that tweet to generate additional tweets**
Theme: Making friends online
Personal experience: During the pandemic, I came to the realization that I’ve not done a great job maintaining existing friendships and making new ones
